43 weeks to go--A day late and a dollar short

Starting weight: 151
Today's weight: 147.8

Sigh. Going the wrong direction. I have a major bad attitude about it all right now. I'm really glad I set myself a long-term goal so that I can take my time and not let these little setbacks ruin everything for me.

I need to refocus and start counting calories again. Especially on weekends. Counting calories is mind-blowingly tedious, but it's also the only thing that has ever worked for me as far as weight loss is concerned. I went to the gym yesterday and I'll go again today. I need to set time aside for working out over the holiday. I'm not going to count calories at our Thanksgiving meal with my in-laws, because that would be annoying, but I'm also going to try to not over-stuff myself.

I just need to accept the fact that my metabolism has changed and I need to adjust the way I eat and do things. I'm never going to be 100 pounds again, but I need to make some adjustments for the sake of my health, my kids and my happiness.

Making Myself Anxious

Like I need any help.

And it's over the stupidest stuff. Like the last couple of days I've been thinking about my next project. I've been working on a world map cross stitch project since May and I'm in the home stretch of having it done. And I can't decide what to do next. And it's making me nuts!

The picture is what mine will look like when it's done. And it looks really good, if I do say so myself. I just wish I could make up my mind what to do next. I like having a project, but I don't really NEED anything else cross stitched. I've been stitching for over 10 years now. I've made wedding samplers and birth records and baby blankets. I did a princess wall hanging for Allie Rae and a family tree for my Mom.

I thought about teaching myself to do tapestries, and found some gorgeous kits online, but the kits are freakishly expensive. I've tried to teach myself to crochet and all I taught myself was a bunch of new swear words. I'm not sure I'm coordinated enough to knit. I don't really like to paint. I can't draw. I like stitching and I'm good at it, I just can't decide what I would want to do.

I need to pull out my craft box and see what kinds of forgotten projects are in there that I can tackle. And I need to STOP thinking about it now because I'm making myself tense over the activity I use to relieve my stress!

44 Weeks to Go

Starting Weight: 151
Today's weight: 147.2
Total loss: 3.8 pounds

I guess I'm going to go ahead and gain-and-lose this same half pound. I'm frustrated. I did pretty well this week and still gained.

Very important stuff

--------------------------------------------------------->

Over there. I registered. It's quick, easy and painless and it just might save someone's life.

I'm feeling good today

I've been enjoying everyone's Things I'm Thankful for on Facebook. I haven't done it myself, but it's nice to sit back and think about things like that every once in awhile.

I'm actually feeling good today. I'm mostly over my cold, the kids mostly cooperated with me this morning. It's a beautiful sunny fall day, and I love fall days. That nice crisp cool weather mixed with the sun and all the gorgeous colors we get here in Ohio this time of year.

Kyle has done so well since his surgery and his appetite has finally picked up. He had 5 chicken nuggets and 6 pizza rolls for dinner last night. Not the healthiest dinner, I admit, but this is a kid who would occasionally have one yogurt for dinner and call it good. He's also just a super-clown, and makes me laugh constantly. Last night while the kids were going to sleep, he would decide it was too quiet and would just randomly yell out "underpants!" to make everyone laugh.

Allie Rae is moving up to a new reading group at school. She got pulled out with 4 others from her class to work with a reading teacher because she was ahead of the others. Now she's moving up from that group into another group that is ready for more work. She's taken to school like a duck takes to water. She brought home a card last night because she got all her lower-case letters right and she got to pick a prize out of the prize box.

David is settling in to his new job--he got a promotion at work recently and it loving his new job. Hopefully the raise that came with it will help us catch up on all the medical bills. Between David's appendix this summer and Kyle's teeth, we have some bills coming in. But we luckily found a credit card with zero interest until next fall, so we can put everything on there and then pay it off before we owe any interest.

I'm thankful that we still have all 4 of our parents with us. My dad and my mother-in-law have had health problems the last few years, but they are both still kicking around and enjoying life. My dad is retiring at the end of the year and my Mom is enjoying her retirement as well.

There are so many things I'm thankful for and these are just a few. I may have to come back to this topic again this week.

45 Weeks to Go

Starting Weight: 151.0
Today's weight: 146.8
Total Loss: 4.2 pounds

I will definitely take that. Food was on track mostly this week, but I didn't get much working out in, since I was working on getting a cold all week. I think I'm back on the upswing now, so hopefully I can knock out some good workouts this week.

David told me he could tell I had lost weight. That's always a good sign.

I also have 10 pounds to go to hit a healthy BMI!

Momma Mia!

My kids are wearing me out this week. Nightmares, bed-wetting incidents and general backtalk and sass are getting on my nerves.

It doesn't help at all that I think I'm getting a cold right now. It also doesn't help that Kyle has been waking me up around 4 a.m. every day this week.

It drives me crazy that I have to ask Allie to do things four or five times before she does them. Like this morning. I asked her to get dressed and she told me that she wasn't awake enough. I left the room to grab something, came back and she was coloring. If you are awake enough to color, you are awake enough to get dressed, especially since her clothes were already laid out for her!

Kyle is the opposite. Where Allie is the Girl of 1000 Excuses, Kyle just says no if you tell him to do something he doesn't feel like doing. I'm not sure which is more frustrating, honestly. Allie will eventually do what you ask, you just may have to ask her a million times. Usually if I threaten Kyle with a time-out, he'll do what I asked him to do, but he'll scream and cry the whole time.

I love the little wieners, don't get me wrong. But they drive me up the wall sometimes!

46 weeks to go

Took a tiny step backwards this week.

Starting weight: 151
Current weight: 147.4
Gain of 0.2

Given a 4-day binge of trick or treat candy and Halloween parties, I'll take that. I'm back at it again today. Stocked up on healthy snacks, put the candy on the top shelf and brought my clothes for the gym today.
