Starting Weight: 146.6
Today's Weight: 145.6
This week's loss: 1.0
Total loss: 5.8 pounds
Left to goal: 15.6
Almost 6 pounds in a month? I will definitely take that. I don't feel like I'm depriving myself of much--I still manage to get my chocolate and desserts and things that I like. I've even had fast food a couple of times.
I even lost workout time this week due to illness (first Kyle, then me). I think I only got in 2 workouts this week. I'm going to step it up this week a little and see if I can really get back on track.
A self-improvement project starting during the 50 weeks I have left until I turn 40 years old.

SORE LEGS!
I did a very tough workout Monday and my legs are STILL griping at me about it.
I feel bad when I work out with exercise videos, because I tend to say REALLY mean and nasty things to and about the instructors. I would never do that with a personal trainer because they would be standing right there, plus they would all be in better shape than I am.
I'm probably going to Hell for all the mean things I've said about the lovely ladies at the Firm. I've been a Firmie for almost 7 years now and I love their workouts. But they are tough and make me sweat and hurt and then the swear words start flowing.
And poor Kathy Smith. I'm afraid I said some really regrettable things to her on Monday as she was telling me I "only" had 8 more pulsing lunges. Only, despite the fact that my butt was almost literally ON FIRE! And is still sore today.
But it's a good kind of sore. The kind that is eventually going to keep me healthy and strong and fit for a long time. Or get my mouth washed out with soap.

35 Weeks to Go...Monday weigh in a day late.
Starting Weight: 149.4
Today's Weight: 148.2
This week's loss: 1.2
Total loss: 3.2 pounds
Left to goal: 18.2
Yay me! I had another good week, although I've somehow tweaked my lower back and I think I'm going to have to baby it for a few days. Did a TOUGH circuit workout yesterday, despite the lower back. That felt really good.

Mid-Week update
SO far, without jinxing myself, it's going really well.
I haven't had a single diet pop--or any pop--since Saturday. The DTs are finally gone and I've noticed a pleasant benefit to all of this. My appetite is down. I had read the studies that said diet pop actually makes you hungrier. I really am starting to believe it. I'm not saying I don't get hungry sometimes, but it's really interesting. I used to be starving again about 2 hours after dinner, but I haven't had an evening snack all this week. I've built one into my diet plan, but I haven't needed it.
David and I have both noticed that we have a lot more energy and have been in better moods since we started eating healthier. I'm not saying I'll never eat junk food again, but maybe I can remind myself how much better I feel when I'm taking care of myself and make those rare treats actually both rare and treats, rather than an excuse to binge on a bunch of stuff that isn't good for me anyway.

36 Weeks to Go
Starting Weight: 151.4
Today's Weight: 149.4
Total loss: 2 pounds
Left to goal: 19.4
I'm very happy with this. I maintained my diet plan all weekend, managed to treat myself to a hot fudge sundae yesterday and still not derail myself and I even got a workout in yesterday.
The only hitch is a little bit of the DT's from giving up pop. I was pretty grouchy yesterday and had a bit of a headache. I'm still adjusting to the aftertaste of iced tea also (trying not to dump 10 pounds of sugar in each glass to offset it, lol). But I know it will be so much better for me.

First week progress report
So far so good. I've hit my dietary goals all 5 days this week and made 4 trips to the gym. I tend to fall apart on the weekends, but hopefully I can keep on keeping on.
I did yell a little bit more a couple of mornings this week. I had bed invaders pretty much every night this week, so my patience was not all that great, at least not early in the morning. But we made it through Girl Scouts (it's cookie time!) and are finishing up the week of school and I'm looking forward to the weekend.
I'm enjoying learning how to loom knit. I've made hats, scarves and slippers so far. I have a bunch of things I want to try. I just hope my ambition doesn't outstrip my ability! lol

37 weeks to Go
Starting over. Sigh.
I blew it big time over the holidays. But it's not too late to turn things around. New Year, New Start.
Starting weight as of today: 151.4
Goal Weight: 130
This is totally do-able. I wouldn't set the goal if it wasn't physically possible. I plugged my stats into fitday.com, repacked my gym bag and I'm ready to rock and roll. It's just a little more than half a pound a week, which is more than reasonable for me. And since David is on board and we're trying to focus on making it a healthy lifestyle for our whole family, it will be much easier to stick to (versus Mommy is on a diet, hide the cookies!).
My other partial goal is to try to not let my house get out of control so that it takes hours to put it back together. If I set a goal of keeping the stuff picked up and then cleaning one room each evening after dinner, the weekends won't be a marathon de-cluttering session. I think I'll tackle my bathrooms tonight, mostly because Kyle, while potty-trained, does not have great aim. My bathroom floor ALWAYS needs cleaned.
I usually do really well in the first couple of months of the new year, so the challenge for me will be keeping it going in the spring and summer!
